Massive blue-gray clouds

12/20/11, 5:30 pm looking northwest
These giant dark silhouetted clouds against the last of the day's light were dramatic in the extreme. Certainly, they made me feel the majesty of Nature and my insignificance. Because the low light, the clouds seemed to be one smooth mass taking up the entire sky. The few peeks of twilight sky  made for an interesting shape like a tattered velvet curtain.

That last idea of the curtain makes the watercolor seem Gothic as if it were a backdrop in one of Mrs Radcliffe's novels. Perhaps, The Mysteries of Udolpho. Hmmm.
