Thursday night, September 22nd, provided a banquet of moving clouds. These were painted about 10:30 pm facing west. The ambient color comes from downtown Richmond, a warm glow of light from street lights, parking lots and old office buildings.
The undulating clouds are like quilt batting reflecting the colors of the fabric on the other side. These altocumulus clouds were not as parallel as I've seen them in the past. They seemed to converge toward the center. One interesting thing about the appearance of this painting is that it looks like there is sky visible where the dark blue shows. It was really more cloud that was dark and higher in the sky away from the ambient light.
