Altostratus clouds

These soft sheer altostratus clouds covered the sky for most of the daylight hours on Sunday, October 9th. The light winds were blowing northeast and stretched the clouds in that direction. This western-facing view, taken at about 4 pm, shows layers of blue-gray cloud obscuring the blue sky.

Altostratus clouds generally cover the entire sky and may indicate coming rain storms. Our forecast calls for rain starting on Tuesday, October 11th.
